What happens to them all?

This afternoon I was sitting at my desk doing a bit of paperwork. I reached for a pen and it didn’t want to write. I them reached for another and another and none of them would write. I ended up using a pencil because it was the only thing that I could get to work. I would have gladly taken one of the best novelty pens if there would have been one in the pencil jar, but I made do with a pencil. I have no idea what has happened to all my pens to make them not write. Maybe someone is playing a prank on me?
