Who is sneaking them?

My children are home schooled. I know that for many people this automatically invokes a certain impression of what my kids are like. Typically my children are pretty low key and easily amused. They love being on the go and seeing the world around them. A simple drive in the car is a good time. Tonight they are wilder than I have ever seen them. My gut tells me that they found the 5 pound bag of chocolate chips that are hidden in the freezer. We dole these out as treats instead of candy or other sweets. My wife swears that today was chocolate free day but I just looked and the bag of chips looks really low. Given that our 3 year old has figured out how to stack stuff to reach what he wants I now have a theory as to how the chocolate supply is being depleted.
